The search is on for products that are functional, practical and that satisfy our growing need to save our vital resources.

Requiring just 36L of water per wash, it has the lowest water usage for washing machines on the Australian market.

Features include a 29 minute Quick Wash program for up to 5 kilos of laundry; Easy Iron, a feature that reduces fabric creases through a cleverly designed wash action and spinning cycle; as well as Pre-wash and Extra Rinse cycles.

In designing this new machine, Haier has addressed two common consumer irritations with front loaders, relating to doors and access. As a result, the generously-sized 30cm diameter door opens 180 degrees so that it is out of the way and the large opening provides easy access for loading and unloading.

Aside from the usual wash programs, such as normal, wool or delicates, this model has a Load Selector which enables personalisation of water level, temperature, spin speed (from 400 to 1200 revolutions per minute) and running time.

An easy to read LCD display indicates the progress of the wash from preset cycle time, spin speed, water temperatures through to completion.

This efficient front-loader also has a three to 24 hour Delay Start Timer. The washer can be programmed to start work at a time that suits the user, for instance during the night to make use of off-peak electricity.

A child proof door lock engages once programs have been selected.

The Haier 1260K has a two year warranty and is available for RRP $699 at Retravision stores.
